Gulab Jamun

Ramadan Mubarak everyone! 🌙 🌙 🌙
Here is a special treat for you all to celebrate this beautiful month of Ramadan!  😊

 

Ingredients:

Milk powder – 1 cup

Oil – 1 tbsp

Egg – 1

Baking powder – 1/2 tsp

Sugar – 1 cup

Water – 2 cups

Small green cardamom – 2 or 3

For frying – 2 cups of oil

Method:

Take a deep cooking saucepan and add 1 cup of sugar. Pour 2 cups of water. Add 2 to 3 small green cardamoms. Keep it in a medium heat flame and once it has reached 1/2 string consistency or is little sticky and sugar is completely dissolved, turn off the flame and let it rest in the room temperature for 20 minutes. Then, take a bowl and add 1 cup of milk powder, 1/2 tsp of baking powder, 1 tbsp of oil, 1 egg. Knead it well. Then, make small round shape balls of the dough. Take another deep cooking saucepan and add 2 cups of oil or ghee for frying. Once the saucepan is heated well in a medium heat flame, add the balls. Let them cook. Turn them over. Once they are in a nice golden brown color. Strain them out. Add the balls into the sugar syrup.

Garnish it with crushed almonds and pistachios.

Your GULAB JAMUN are ready! 😀

Total – 10 to 11

Serves – 3 to 4 persons.

Preparation time – 1 hour.
