Ingredients:
Rice – 2 cups
Peas – 1/2 cup
Cooking oil – 2 tbsp
Onion – 1 (sliced)
Ginger and garlic paste – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Black pepper powder – 1 tsp
All spice powder – 1 tsp
Water – 3 to 4 cups
Salt (as required)
Method:
Take a deep cooking saucepan and add 2 tbsp of cooking oil. Then, add 1Β medium size onion (sliced). Once the onion is caramelized well, add 1 tsp of ginger and garlic paste. Add 1 tsp of cumin seeds, add salt as required, add 1 tsp of black pepper powder, add 1 tsp of all spice powder. Mix the spices well. Add 1/2 cup of peas. Add 2 cups of rice, saute the rice for a while so that it could get all the flavor from the spices. Then, add 3 to 4 cups of water, stir it well.
Once the rice are half cooked and a very less amount of water is left then… Place a tava below the cooking saucepan, cover the lid and let it cook for 20 minutes in a low heat flame.
YOUR RICE WITH GREEN PEAS ARE READY! π
You can serve it with raita.
Serves 5-6 persons.
