Wheat Flour – 1 cup
Semolina – 1 cup
Water (as required for kneading)
Potatoes – 8 to 9 (boiled)
Chickpeas – 1/2 kg (boiled)
Tamarind – 1/4 kg
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – 2 to 3 cups
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Cumin powder – 1 tbsp
Chaat masala – 1 tsp
Cooking Oil – 2 cups
Take 1 cup of wheat flour and semolina. Mix them in a bowl and add water for kneading. Once the dough is ready… Take a small portion of the dough and press it and dust it with wheat flour. Use the rolling pin to flat the dough. Take a small size round cutter and shape the dough.
Then, take a deep cooking saucepan and add 2 cups of cooking oil. Dip it into the saucepan. Fry them in a medium heat flame till golden brown and make them puffy. Don’t let it burn. Once they are ready, let them rest in room temperature for 10 minutes.
Boil 8 to 9 potatoes. Cut them into cubes. Boil 1/2 kg of chickpeas.
Take a separate bowl and add 1 cup of sugar, 2 to 3 cups of water, 1/4 kg of tamarind, whisk it. Add 1 tsp of chaat masala, 1 tbsp of cumin powder, 1 tsp of red chili powder. Whisk it well.
Your sweet tamarind chutney is ready!
Take a gol gappa and tap it lightly with your index finger in the middle of gol gappa to make a hole, then add boiled chickpeas.
And lastly, add sweet tamarind chutney.
