Kadhi/Yogurt and gram flour curry with spicy vegetable fritters

Method:

Take a bowl and add 6 tbsp of gram flour and 6 cups of water. Whisk it well. Pour it in an empty deep cooking saucepan.

Then, take another bowl and add 6 tbsp of yogurt and 6 cups of water. Whisk well. Add it in the same deep cooking saucepan in which gram flour was added.

Stir it well and let it cook for an hour.

Take another deep cooking saucepan and add 2 tbsp of cooking oil.

Slice 2 medium size onions. Add them into the saucepan. Slice 1 medium size tomato and 3 green chillies.Add them into the saucepan. Mix the vegetables well.

Add salt as required. Add 3 grinded dundicut peppers. Add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder. Mix all the spices well.

Once gram flour and the yogurt slightly thickens, add the mixture in the second deep cooking saucepan. Let it cook in a low heat flame for 10mins. Remember avoid having lumps in the mixture.

For fritters:

Take a bowl and add 8 tbsp of gram flour, 1 tsp of dried pomegranate seeds, 2 green chillies (chopped), 1/2 tsp of red chili powder, 1/2 tsp of chaat masala, 1 small size onion, and add salt as required.

Mix the ingredients well by adding 1/4th cup of water. Then, add 1 tsp of baking powder. Mix the batter well.

Take a deep frying saucepan and add 1 cup of cooking oil. Fry them well until they are golden in color.

Let them cool in the room temperature.

Once you turn the flame off, only then add fritters into the mixture.

For tempering:

Take a frying pan and add 2 tbsp of oil and 10 dundicut peppers. Add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds and 2 green chillies in a medium heat flame.

Add tempering into kadhi.

Serve it with Roti or Naan.

 

Serves 5-6 persons.

Preparation time – 1 hour and 30 minutes.
