Karela/Spicy Bitter Melon

 

Method:

Add 2 tbsp of oil and 2 medium size onions.

Add 1 medium size tomato.

Take 4 bitter melons/gourds.

Remove the seeds of the bitter melon and slice them into pieces.

Add them into the cooking saucepan.

Add 1/4 cup of water.

Then, add 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and a pinch of crushed red chillies.

Add 1/2 tsp of garlic (chopped).

Mix all the ingredients well.

Add more 1/4 cup of water.

Cover the lid for 15 minutes in a low heat flame.

Garnish it with coriander leaves.

Your Spicy Bitter Melon is ready! 😀

Serves 2-3 persons.

Preparation time 20 minutes.

    I saw bitter melon at the Co-Op the other day, but didn’t have any idea how to cook it. Now I’ll have to give it a try!
