Ingredients:
- Dried plums – 1/2 kg
- Water – 3 to 4 cups
- Sugar – 2 cups
- Green cardamom – 2 to 3 pods
- Cinnamon – 1 stick
- Dried pumpkin seeds – 1 tsp
- Almonds – 6 or 7
Method:
First, keep the dried plums overnight in water so that they are soaked well and be nice and soft in the morning. Waste that water and put the plums aside. Take some fresh water inΒ a deep cooking saucepan and add the soaked plums in it. Heat the saucepan on a stove and stir constantly until the plums are soft. When the plums are mixed well with water, add sugar and continuously keep on stirring; otherwise the mixture would stick to the bottom of the saucepan. When the plum mixture is thick enough, add green cardamom, cinnamon, dried pumpkin seeds and almonds and don’t stop stirring! Once these all ingredients are mixed well, then dish it out in a nice bowl. Your plum chutney is ready.
*Note: You can refrigerate the plum chutney and use it for almost a month.
Preparation time – 30mins.
Serves 5-6 persons.
