Doughnuts with icing sugar and melted chocolate

  • Flour – 1 cup
  • Egg – 1
  • Caster Sugar – 3/4 cup
  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Baking powder – 1 tbsp
  • Oil for deep frying

For icing:

  • Icing sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Melted chocolate – 100 grams

Take a deep glass bowl. Add flour, egg, caster sugar, butter and baking powder into the bowl. Knead the dough. Dough must be soft. Heat the oil in deep frying pan for 10mins, while the oil is being heated, flat your dough with the help of rolling pin and shape your dough into a large circle, take a large and a small round shaped metallic biscuit cutter for shaping the doughnuts, once they are shaped.  They are ready for frying. You can fry the remaining small balls or you can again mix them with the dough for doughnuts, it’s all up to you. Slowly dip them into oil till they are light brown in color.

For icing, all you have to do is sprinkle the icing sugar with the help of sieve. Secondly, you can use any type of chocolate, I would prefer you to use milk chocolate, melt it and dip light brown doughnuts into the melted chocolate. The yummy sugar coated and chocolate dipped doughnuts are ready to eat!

*Note: Dip the doughnuts into chocolate only when they are in room temperature.

Serves 5-6 persons.
